Urgent: Is Your Pool VGBA Compliant?

The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act (VGBA) is a federal law that requires pools and spas to meet strict safety standards. Non-compliance isn't just a risk—it's illegal. Drain covers can lead to entrapment and accidents, with consequences ranging from heavy fines to pool closures.

Orca Pacific’s VGBA Services

Let us lead you through the complex process of meeting the Health Department’s latest VGBA requirements.

VGBA Steps
STEP01

Preliminary Inspection & Compliance Assessment

Our experts conduct a thorough evaluation of your current system to determine compliance with VGBA standards.

STEP02

Cover Replacement or Additional Engineering

We assess whether like-for-like covers can be installed or if further engineering adjustments are needed.

STEP03

Health Department Plan Review Submission

If sumps are compliant: We install like for like VGBA approved covers.
If sumps are non-compliant: Sumps will be rebuilt per approved engineered plans, and Health Department approval. Approved VGBA covers will be installed per the approved plans.

STEP04

Pump Replacement (If Necessary)

If the current pump exceeds or does not meet the acceptable flow rates for your pool’s pipe size and turnover rate for your pool, we will install a new pump per the engineered approved plans.
