Orca Pacific recognizes the importance of investing in the next generation of students and nurturing the future of our community. In 2022, Orca proudly launched the inaugural Summer Internship Program with the primary objective of empowering high school and college students to develop robust technical and social skills in a professional work environment.
Our paid internship program offers students a unique opportunity to work closely with Orca’s leadership team to craft a role that aligns with their individual career aspirations. Throughout the summer season, interns are immersed in hands-on projects, challenges, and real-world situations that facilitate their personal growth. Our commitment is to equip our interns with a refined skillset, providing them with a competitive edge as they pursue their future career paths.

MEET OUR INTERNS
BACKGROUND:
Alexis graduated from Raisbeck Aviation High School in the spring of 2023. Throughout high school she has specialized in STEM, with a focus on aviation and aerospace. With her leadership, she led the RAHS Solar Car Team to 3 National Championships. Looking ahead, she is excited to continue her studies in the fall at Purdue University, studying Aerospace Engineering.
INTERNSHIP FOCUS:
With Alexis’ specialized skills in project management, she spent her time completely developing a standard operating procedure (SOP) infrastructure. She worked closely with the chemical, service, pool cleaning, construction, and human resource departments to install the streamlined SOPs for specialized company procedures.
INTERN STATEMENT:
“Throughout the Orca internship, I gained valuable insight into the fundamentals of business. Understanding the bigger picture of a corporation has been instrumental in helping me take the next steps to be a well-rounded engineer. I am excited to apply a new entrepreneurial perspective towards my engineering degree in the fall.”
BACKGROUND:
Mikaela graduated from the Lakeside School in the spring of 2022. Throughout high school she had experience doing consulting work and served as a Youth Leadership Board Member at the UW Joshua Center. Mikaela is a current Sophomore at the University of Southern California, studying Business Administration.
INTERNSHIP FOCUS:
Mikaela is our inaugural Orca Intern, joining the team with strong business experiences. Throughout the internship she worked with the financial department, working through critical financial analysis, fundamental accounting functions, economic updates, and banking. Notably, she designed and implemented a tiered pricing plan for delivery fees in response to rising fuel prices.
INTERN STATEMENT:
“I really valued the opportunity to shadow numerous roles which allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of how a small business functions and day-to-day operations. I gained a great range of skills in all roles and departments that helped me broaden my professional experience.”
